Helen S. is a contemporary artist who loves to soak herself into the nature. She sees the journey of her life similar to the blossoming process of a flower. It is inevitable for flowers to wither after they bloom, just as it is inevitable for us human beings to sometimes be hurt and defeated. Nonetheless, every stage in the brief life of a flower, no matter bursting or falling, is beautiful in its own sense. Similarly, every step in the limited period of our lives, no matter up or down, bears its own unique meaning that may have great impact on the rest of our times on earth. In another sense, human beings may experience a number of unwanted incidents throughout their years of existence, just as flowers may experience unexpected wounds or even death due to a sudden change in weather, but that does not mean we lose our values because of these flaws. In fact, it is the imperfection that heightened the beauty of perfection, in flowers and in us.
Helen wishes to highlight her ideal of tracing back to the very original means, purposes and hopes in life through this solo exhibition, after having experienced different moments of success, failure, confusion and clarity. Her art, enchanting as it is, draws from this inspiration of merging nature and culture, as well as tenderness and power.
AND International presents Le Jardin de Vie, ‘The Garden of Life’, here we celebrate the ultimate power of our lives, no matter we see them as carved in stones, or freed like feathers.

About Artist Helen S.:
Helen S. was first captivated by the art world at the early age of 6, she started off with learning how to draw, and later developed a set of other artistic skills. At the age of 14 she participated in her first group exhibition at Galerie Père Tanguy in Paris. Though having the opportunity to attend an art school at 18, she did not choose this life. Instead, she decided to explore the possibilities outside the art school. By 22 she has become a highly-recognised artist on social media with over 16K followers who love her works. Helen likes to mix media and re-use materials in her works and seeks to work in a more sustainable way. She believes in her intuitions when making art, and that different materials express different forms of perception, therefore considering it unnecessary to restrict herself to a certain type of medium.
