From her base on the East coast of Scotland, Glassford regularly travels to some of the most remote locations in the UK in order to immerse herself in the rugged landscape and unpredictable weather patterns which these northerly regions have to offer. Full sensory experiences, rather than visual perceptions alone, are the tools which this artist draws upon to inform her work. The resulting expressive abstract landscape paintings hint at horizon, sea, sky and land, blurring the lines of where each of these elements begins and ends. In exploring these liminal spaces, Glassford captures and evokes the memory of a single moment in place and time.
