IN:SIGHT PROJECTS are proud to present “Held in Flux” a contemporary look at how we process and share our ever-changing lived experience. Seen through the lens of physical labour and digital technology, the artists look to give body to the impermanence and reclaim their sense of presence.
About
“Held in Flux” is a transient exhibition that brings together a talented and eclectic mix of artists who explore the complex relationship between internal and external worlds in the digital age. The exhibition features a diverse range of artists who embrace and contrast on this topic through various multidisciplinary art forms including painting, sculpture, photography, and video.Through their works, the artists construct and engage with their sense of presence, simultaneously alternating between the seductively physical and the dissociatively abstract.
The exhibition draws parallels across artists who have distinctly different practices, from the use of digital 3D modelling software in painting to casting one’s own body for photography. “Held in Flux” showcases the artists’ innovative and creative use of materials in relation to the body and the use of technology as its own malleable form. Physical & Digital methods of production cross-pollinate throughout the exhibition, creating a network of communication that pulls the viewer between online and
offline; memory and presence.
The exhibition is sponsored by Soho Revue Gallery who are soon to open the building as an Artists in Residence Program, further championing emerging talent in the heart of London. Split over two levels, visitors will have the opportunity to have a sneak peek at this forthcoming space as it is filled with twelve of the UK & Europe’s most exciting artists.
