Apartment Monologue is the first work by Hedda Schattanik and Roman Szczesny to be shown in Australia and will be exhibited as a singular piece.
About
The film shows a deserted apartment in semi-darkness, which tells the viewer it's history with the help of the furnishings and interior elements. You can hear a female voice whose confession is so sampled that her facts disappear again and again in electronic creaks. The figures left behind are comic, erratic, suggestive, poetic and sombre, and have been photographically staged. They tell what the artificial voice in the film can not name. Since 2013, Schattanik and Szczesny have been working together as a duo, producing mystical and visually sophisticated works.
