Head anatomy and the portrait

Alan takes a break from his popular anatomy workshops to concentrate on the head. Anatomy looks at what we have in common (the underlying which we all share), while the portrait focuses on the differences which identify us as individuals. Using these two concepts we will begin by studying the skeletal and muscular anatomy of the head and neck through drawing, using anatomical examples and working from the life model. We will progress through looking at structure and the relationships between features culminating in a concentrated investigation of portrait drawing.
