Vampyromorphs is a collection of glossy gothic punk cephalopods from the id: Vampyromorphic mermatrices.
The series of original character portrayals, presented as framed digital prints, are designed to both attract and repel. The sirens are fused with their tentacled garments - the highly polished epidermides draw you in but the gaze tells you to keep your distance.
The works pay homage to British comics (2000AD, Brian Bolland, Dave Gibbons) and classic erotic illustration & photography (John Willie, Eric Stanton, Irving Klaw, Bob Carlos Clarke).
The exhibition title is taken from Vampyromorphida, an order of cephalopods comprising one known living species: Vampyroteuthis infernalis.
