Launch of 'Hatch Shorts' and South London Art Map

About

‘Hatch Shorts' is the first in a series of events screening short film and video work by London based artists. February's Hatch Shorts gives the chance to see work by some of London's most exciting artists working in time based media at the recently established Hatch Space in Deptford. February's installment includes new work by: Tristram Bellotti, Natasha Bird, John Hill, Nicole Morris, Sean Mullins and Alex Tuckwood. This event which will take place alongside our first open studios, will also usher in the very first of the South London Art Map's last Fridays events which will see the late night opening of all galleries in South London on the last Friday of every month. The South London Art Map is a one-stop resource for the visual arts in South London from Bankside to Greenwich. In addition, to celebrate the launch of the South London Art Map TATE Modern has commissioned South London based artist Hew Locke to create an artist product. A limited number of badges created by the artist will be available to the first 25 people who arrive through Hatch Space's door that evening. The free printed map will also be available to collect from Hatch Space on the night. The whole of Deptford and South London will be a hive of artistic activity for the launch. Ensure you don't miss a thing and visit www.southlondonartmap.com (site launch 21st Feb) for other events in the area.
