About
Born in Reyjavik, Iceland in 1948, Bilson is an artist with unique vision. His canvases, filled with colour, are a riotous celebration of distorted landscapes occupied by harlequins, women, children and animals often depicted in a carnival setting. His paintings swirl with emotional intensity and reflect a great joy for life. A master of colour, he relishes ambiguity and observing the absurd. This is Bilson's first exhibition at the gallery and we are delighted to introduce his particular vision of life to our collectors. Since his first solo exhibition in London at the age of 21, Bilson has exhibited in numerous one-man and group shows in the United States, South America, Japan, Australia and Europe. Throughout this time he has established an impressive list of collectors including Bob Hawke, Jonathan Sachs, Anne Robinson, Clint Eastwood, Jack Palance, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Liv Ullman and many more luminaries too numerous to mention.
