Harley Kuyck-Cohen: Brown Carpet

Slugtown are pleased to present Brown Carpet, a solo exhibition by Newcastle based artist Harley Kuyck-Cohen, and his first in the city. Working in sculpture and installation – Kuyck-Cohen’s work investigates how interior thoughts can shape exterior space. 

Featuring prominently in Kuyck-Cohen’s work is the space of the domestic interior, and for Brown Carpet the artist touches on the architecture of the aristocracy and the upper classes.  Working with reclaimed ephemera, the exhibition is a sombre narrative exploring the bonds between history, masculinity and craft.
