About

Sovay Berriman, Sara Bowler, Bruce Davies, Patrick Lowry and Kate Ogley have created new work in response to a unique site in Cornwall.

Goonhilly Downs is home to many things, amongst them a national nature reserve and a former satellite earth station, alongside the remains of Bronze Age barrows and a World War Two radar station. The artists have responded to the site, its histories and associations to create an intense two-day event.

Happidrome Four is the fourth manifestation for this artist-led initiative undertaken with the support of Natural England who manage the reserve. This year it also has financial support from Arts Council England's Grants for the Arts and Cornwall Council's Feast programme. A welcome addition is the provision of power provided by a local company, Kraft Maus, who generate electricity for remote locations using renewable energy ' in this case solar panels and a wind turbine.

From bouncing round the site on a space hopper, to listening to a reading of TS Elliott's, The Wasteland, Happidrome Four will engage its audience in diverse ways over two days of direct engagement.
