FutureEverything 2011 and Victoria Baths are proud to co-present Handmade: Digital | DIY | Craft.

About

This one day event incorporates contemporary craft, digital hacking, inter activities and DIY Cluture and has invited makers to create objects, installations and performances that explore the cross-fertilisation of new and traditional media, materials and processes. A new maker community is merging, connecting the culture of traditional skills and materials with modern-day digital production, all showcased at Handmade: Digital | DIY | Craft. VB Arts present, 'Physical Oscillators', a brand new interactive and experimental work from TableTop experiments artist Antony Hall, whist Yu-Chen Wang, currently completing her residency at Chinese Arts Centre, presents her one off performance 'The Splash and A Last Drop', responding to the magnificent space and acoustics of the Baths. Renowned artist, designer and craftsman, Michael Eden will be talking about the physical and virtual aspects of his work in a question and answer session, alongside the UK's only FabLab, who have moved into Victoria Baths for the day, and are inviting the public to design and make objects to take home with them. Workshops come courtesy of MzTEK (SPACE Studios) and Dundee University. MzTEK working with a lucky few wannabe hackers, creating DIY Pacman devices, and Dundee university exploring social media through much loved family objects. The past, present and future of self publishing and fanzines will be explored in Victoria Baths' first ever Fanzine convention, whilst a whole host of artists, makers, crafters and hackers join us in the sports hall for our interactive Handmade Fair.
