HANDMADE promises to be an unusual, unique and interactive experience as local furniture designer:maker Nick James relocates his workshop into a gallery, giving visitors a chance to see him working on a live commission. Visitors are encouraged to return to the gallery throughout the exhibition, seeing firsthand the progress and techniques used for each piece. A new range of furniture has been specially designed and made for this exhibition and will be unveiled for the first time. In keeping with his previous pieces, the new range will focus on traditional, time honoured techniques with a contemporary twist. Visitors will also be able to get HANDS ON by joining in with talks and demonstrations. Watch this space for more info.
