Inspired by the great furniture maker and designer Thomas Chippendale's tercentenary, this year's Halls Young Artist competition brings a wealth of future talent to the Granary Art Gallery
About
Once again, the Weston Park Foundation has invited schools in Shropshire and Staffordshire to enter this exciting competition - this year focusing on the inspiration of Thomas Chippendale's 300th anniversary to consider the theme of design . We have sensational fine and decorative art collections in the House at Weston Park and, with this competion - gereously sponsored by Halls - we are on the lookout for the next generation of budding artists to stop the crowds with their work.
Visit the exhibition to see the young people's responses to the challenge of the competion which offers not only the opportunity for primary and secondary pupils to develop their skills but also gives the chance for the winners to win a cash prize for their school. The Competition welcomes all mediums such as painting, photography, woodwork, printmaking, drawing and sculpture. All shortlisted entries will be exhibited in the Granary Art Gallery throughout December and January.
The competition is being generously supported by Shrewsbury based auction house, Halls. www.hallsgb.com
