About

Join us over half term for a series of workshops inspired by Wysing's 2016 programme theme; Wysing Poly. Through Wysing Poly we are exploring new ways to create an environment where making and ideas come together to generate new work and new collaborations. During our three morning study sessions we will be researching, experimenting, and exploring materials, sharing creative ideas, and creating group artwork.

Tuesday 31 May 10.30-12.30

FOODSTUFF as TOOLS and MATERIALS  - Working with artist Georgie Manly we will use food from our kitchen cupboards - mixing, molding, chopping, casting and reforming them to make sculptures. We will experiment together to explore which foods work best as sculptural materials and create a food sculpture display.

Wednesday 1 June 10.30-12.30

DIGITAL TOOLS and MATERIAL  - Working with artist Jack Cornell we will produce drawings that we will transform, refract and mutate into new artworks. With cameras, printouts and other materials we will manipulate our drawings to create individual artworks and a large scale group artwork.

Thursday 2 June 10.30-12.30

NATURAL TOOLS and MATERIALS  - Working with artist Caroline Wendling we will make our own tools, paint brushes, pens, stamps, paints, ink and materials, from natural materials and objects. We will experiment together to explore which materials work best and test out drawing and painting techniques.

The workshops are suitable for 6-12 yr olds, cost £8 per child per workshop or £20 for 3 workshops. You are welcome to attend one, two or all three workshops. Children must be accompanied by an adult, parents and guardian are welcome to join in the activities.
