About

Everard Read London presents an exhibition of new painting and sculpture by Guy Ferrer.

Alluding to an idealized world of fantasy, flowers, birdsong and vibrant colour, Guy Ferrer’s “garden of delights” is his own studio – a spiritual sanctuary and space for creation. Rich in symbolism and texture, Ferrer’s work is deeply concerned with spirituality and the transience of life.

For his second solo exhibition in London, Ferrer has assembled a compelling body of work that continues his investigation into the duality of life and the universe, using the daily practice of his art to search for meaning.

"I paint and sculpt paths to follow to find meaning – in life and death, in fullness and emptiness, in light and shadow, in our precariousness, in our eternity. Paths to share.”

Born in Algeria, Guy Ferrer is a French artist of Catalan and Italian descent. Over the past thirty years, he has developed an international reputation as a painter and sculptor, with exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world.

Major commissions include a monumental bronze for the French embassy in Singapore, a fresco painted for the French embassy in Bakou, Azerbaijan and a triptych - Liberté-Egalité-Fraternité - commisssioned by the OECD for its headquarters in Paris.

“T.O.L.E.R.A.N.C.E” – a major sculptural work created by Ferrer in 2007 in response to contemporary religious tensions – has been widely acclaimed and displayed in France, Germany, the United States, Poland, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.

This is Guy Ferrer’s fourth solo exhibition with Everard Read galleries.
