The two film works being shown at Gimpel Fils were made in the wake of Ben-Ner's divorce and demonstrate not only a change in his approach to making art, but also a transition in his own life. This transition clearly takes place in Drop the Monkey", a video contextualized by his divorce and the problems of starting a new relationship.
