Does beauty matter? 'Japanese beauty' - What is it? What does this mean to the Japanese artists based in the UK? Criteria of Beauty is an exhibition of the winning pieces of the competition for Japanese artists who have practiced or studied in London/ UK. The artists were asked to critically approach 12 Criteria of Beauty coined by the well known Japanese art theoretician, Soetsu Yanagi, in the 1920s and to create an original art piece that would question the relevance of these statements in the context of London/ UK in the 21st century.
