Exhibition making has become an even more complex proposition. What is needed, what is possible, what is safe?

About

After nearly a year living with Covid-19 and the associated restrictions, exhibition making has become an even more complex proposition. What is needed, what is possible, what is safe?

Artist Barry Sykes leads a workshop informed by his recent work teaching a course at University of the Creative Arts, Farnham where art students curated six public, outdoor, covid-safe exhibitions over the winter term of 2020. This workshop will involve a presentation of Barry’s findings, a group discussion of what we all feel might be valuable and necessary for presenting art right now, and an exercise where we will each design a hypothetical exhibition that makes the very most of the current situation.

This workshop is free to attend and open to all but booking is necessary, as spaces are limited. For this online session, we will be using video calling platform Zoom. It is possible to take part with or without setting up an account, and we will send instructions for joining ahead of the day.
