Join Maral Mamaghani, Deaf contemporary jewellery designer, for a deaf-led BSL tour of Grayson's Art Club: The Exhibition.

About

Maral Mamaghani is a Deaf Iranian artist, whose work focuses on the barriers she encounters in her everyday life: being Deaf, female and a refugee. Her international, cross-cultural experiences have influenced her understanding of contemporary jewellery. The primary material Maral uses is human hair, but she has also been exploring ceramic materials in recent times.

Maral became a political refugee following her work, ‘The Politics of Voice; The Tale of Tresses’ as it directly challenged the patriarchal society in Iran. Maral has now been granted permanent leave to remain in the UK.
