This exhibition is a retrospective look the work of Jenny Leathes, with images from her book “Granite Land”, it promises to be a fascinating and beautiful exhibition.
In an interview with BBC Radio Cornwall, Jenny explained her responses to the Cornish Landscape:
“The natural elements provide atmosphere and fuel my passion to be out exploring some of these areas in intimate detail. I am captivated by these wild places and return to explore and understand the area and myself again and again.”
Jenny fought a long and hard battle with cancer, but a few months before she died she traveled to Shetland and Fair Isle and camped along the North East Coast on the way back in order to photograph birds, mostly sea birds. The results are excellent. She was also a committed member of the photography section of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
