Intricate and amusing lino-cut prints documenting everyday life by Graham Firth

About

Printmaker Graham Firth spends his spare days sat in cafes and shopping centres observing and drawing the passing hustle and bustle in sketchbooks. Using these drawings a source material, he makes original and intriguing lino prints which feature scenes from popular shopping destinations such as Meadowhall and the Frenchgate Centre and marketplace in his home town of Doncaster.

Scenes include the Salvation Army band, business meetings, delicatessens, eateries and boutiques. Alongside Graham’s distinctive lino-cut prints, the show will also feature a changing display of the artist’s sketch-books, showing an encyclopaedic record of shoppers, pedestrians and workers of every shape and description.
