Currently celebrating 25 years , Graduate Fashion Week is one of the world’s most important sources of new talent for the global design industry. Fashion supports 797,000 jobs domestically alone, contributing £26 billion to the economy. Graduate Fashion Week is a crucial part of the dynamic – fuelling innovation in all parts of the fashion business. It is a showcase for the imagination and possibilities – shaping the way fashion works as well as looks.

To mark its 25th anniversary, in 2015, the first lifetime patrons of Graduate Fashion Week were announced: Christopher Bailey of Burberry and Victoria Beckham. To mark this year’s event, similarly celebrated names from the ranks of former University alumni will join them – each of them an industry success story. Graduate Fashion Week takes places from 5th-8th June, culminating in the globally prestigious Graduate Fashion Week Gala Awards Show

“The British fashion school system has created an environment that drives young designers to try new ideas without feeling like they have to fit into a predetermined way of doing things,” says Christopher Bailey, the first winner of what is now endowed as the Graduate Fashion Week Gold Award, 25 years ago. “It’s a very exciting environment to learn in”.
