Join editor and writer Grace Banks as she explores the women artists ahead of their time in Modern Couples.
Grace Banks discusses how the couple unit enabled female artists like Lily Reich, Frida Kahlo, Virginia Woolf, Hannah Höch and Barbara Hepworth to work in a climate where the concept of a single working woman was not widely accepted, and how many were ahead of their time in their attitudes to non-monogamy and polyamory.
Grace Banks is a journalist and author specialising in culture, gender, the arts and literature. She is Editor-in-Chief of quarterly culture publication SLEEK Magazine, and her book Play With Me: Dolls – Women – Art was published in 2017 by Laurence King.
