About
The name Interspace derived from the idea to playing and connecting different spaces (such a virtual, actual, mental space…) using gallery floor reflections, gallery corners, the dark of the space and other spaces structure specifics.
Goran Škofić (born 1979) in his work experiments with media manipulation and performative actions in the fields of video, photography, film and spacial installations. His performative actions often feature one individual or a group of people and are a mean of 'documenting' social deformations and absurdities of contemporary life, as well as its problems. Very often he himself is the protagonist in his works. Despite dealing with serious topics, he includes humor and self-irony in his work. Having graduated from the Arts Academy in Split, he continued his art and research work through residencies programs in France, Switzerland, Belgium, US and Brasil. His works are regularly displayed on the exhibitions and the festivals in Croatia and abroad. He was awarded with Grand Prix at 51st Zagreb Salon of Visual Art (2016), Radoslav Putar Award (2009) for best young artist in Croatia, Oktavijan and Jelena Rajković Awards at 11th days of Croatian film.
