Coal Drops Yard, the new Heatherwick Studio designed retail space at London's King's Cross is celebrating all things ceramic this month.

Join in clay workshops at the Kiln House (22nd-23rd March), have a go at the Japanese skill of Kintsugi at Coal Drop's latest store opening, Kitchen Provisions (22nd ,23rd ,24th March), explore MDR Gallery's selling ceramic exhibition or enjoy LPOL and Rochester Square's mindfully handmade ceramic coffee drink-wear and leather goods. It's time to get crafty!

MDR GALLERY- EXHIBITION

In just a short period of time we’ve seen a meteoric rise in the status of studio pottery. Today, ceramic is a go-to material for expressive designers and ceramicists alike. Crowd Pleaser (People Who Pot) brings together works by a wide range of these makers in a riotous celebration of contemporary studio pottery. The show at MDR Gallery will demonstrate the profusion and range of work currently being made at this point of ‘peak ceramic’.

WORKSHOPS, LIVE RAKU FIRING AND LATE NIGHT WOOD-FIRED PIZZA AT THE KILN HOUSE

22nd March- 23rd March 2019 

Kiln House will be leading interacive clay workshops hosted by the Sistainable Anthropocene Cooperative, made up of two BA students from Central Saint Martins and Camberwell College of Art. The workshops aim to educate, integrate and to share awareness of how nature is altered by human action.

Saturday 23rd March

LPOL AND ROCHESTER SQUARE

22nd - 24th March

Celebrate the mindfully handmade with ceramic drinkwear and leather goods availble from the LPOL Shop. 

LPOL is open from 10:00 to 20:00 daily (12:00- 18:00 Sundays)

KINTSUGI AT KITCHEN PROVISIONS

Kintsugi is the Japanese technique of fixing broken or chipped ceramics with gold. Join in drop in sessions on 22nd, 23rd and 24th March. All materials will be provided or you can buy the kits to take away. £6- £8 depending on the size of the ceramics.
