The two-part exhibition “Gods Moving in Places” explores the political potential of the Caribbean and Guyanese imagination. The memories, tales and histories – including indigenous mythologies as well as the violence of the conquest of the South American continent – that are part of this imagination, will be encountered in the exhibition through what Édouard Glissant calls the tropical night and its spirits and figures that weigh on the shoulder.
