Glass is the starting point for many artists, makers and designers, who work with this seemingly fragile material in different ways including casting, blowing and fusing.
About
Sculptors known for their work in other mediums may use glass for a variety of reasons – it might be for colour, transparency, contrast, or surface texture; either on its own or in combination with other materials; or for diverse compositional and conceptual reasons.
This exhibition, curated by Ann Elliott, explores this ancient and fascinating material that demands a high degree of skill from those who use it creatively. Among the exhibitors are Annie Cattrell, Danny Lane, Liliane Lijn, Yorgos Papadopoulos, Simon Periton, Johannes von Stumm, David Ward, Julian Wild and Neil Wilkin.
