Giosetta Fioroni. Silver Years

Partners & Mucciaccia is pleased to present an exhibition dedicated to the silver years of Giosetta Fioroni, following the success of the solo exhibition at Galleria Mucciaccia in Rome and her solo show GIOSETTA FIORONI. Roma anni ’60 at the Museum MACRA in Catanzaro, Italy in 2016.

With artworks from the sixties, the exhibition includes her acclaimed canvases painted with enamel aluminium. The works have the immediacy of a photographic snapshot, where often on the same canvas Fioroni depicts either the trace of a sequence of images, thus confirrning her strong interest in Italian cinema, or the same subject is present simultaneously, but at two different times. In the artworks from this period, it is notable the artist’s relationship with the fashion and photography world, such as in La modella inglese (The English Model) and Faccia pubblicitaria (Advertising Face).

The show is organised in collaboration with the Archive Goffredo Parise and Giosetta Fioroni. It is accompanied by a bilingual catalogue, in English and Italian, illustrated, published by Cambi Editore with original essays by Fabrizio D’Amico, Piero Mascitti and Francesca Pola; a selection of published critical texts by Gloria Bianchino, Alberto Boatto, Cesare Brandi, Maurizio Calves, Piergiovanni Castagnoli, Giosetta Fioroni, Daniele Lancioni, Tommaso Trini and writers Alfonso Berardinelli, Guido Ceronetti, Cesare Garboli, Rafaela La Caprie, Emanuele Trevi and Goffredo Parise. The biography is curated by Elettra Bottazzi.
