About
A new exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Gillian Ayres RA CBE, one of Britain's most respected and best-loved post war artists. A monumental painting from the early 1970s by Ayres, previously unexhibited and measuring over 6 metres, will form the centrepiece of this exhibition, which includes unseen related works on paper and new paintings and woodcut editions.
This exhibition coincides with the largest exhibition of Ayres' work ever seen in the UK, opening at National Museum Cardiff from 8 April - 3 September 2017, and the first major publication on the artist's life and work in more than 15 years, written by Martin Gayford and published by Art / Books.
