YOUNG TEAM is delighted to announce a solo exhibition of new work by Giles Round. cofounder of The Grantchester PotteryRound utilises ceramics, furniture, print, painting textiles and found objects to explore the imposed historic boundaries between fine art and design and how these might continue to influence our modern lives.

Round’s work often reflects on alternative histories of British Modernism with a focus on the domestic object or interior, the collective nature of structures such as The Omega workshop and Bloomsbury Set informing alternative ways of living and working. AGAIN! SORRY! AGAIN! SORRY!focuses on Round’s ongoing SORRY!series of works; previously centred around phallic vases which reference the work of Ettore Sottsass, a series of new commissions extends this imagery to encompass wall painting, lighting and textiles. Newly commissioned sculptures made especially for the space will accompany the series while a HELP!donations pot (it’s size determining the amount of help required) will be located in the entrance to the gallery, a tongue in cheek but eminently practical solution to the issue of artists pay and institutional support.
