Gilbert Brohl „HOPE“
16 Apr 2016 – 14 May 2016
About
In his current exhibition entitled "HOPE" the artist Gilbert Brohl presents his new oil paintings and he is now also using drawings as a medium of his imagination. His works take the viewer into a magical world where the prevailing mysticism can simultaneously detect familiar parallels to our reality. Wanderings and inquiries through space and time, memories and hopes for the future determine his prevailing confrontation and lead us toward and away from the individual to our present way of life.
Fantastic sceneries embeds the artist in detailed depictions of nature and combines them with graphic elements. The contrast of the static graphic and lively nature he creates a captivating tension in the images. Brohl theme in his works is the cohabitation of man and nature or their symbiosis. He shows in the drawing "Country side" an isolated place, perhaps a poisoned landscape in which the background two dressed in radiation suits people act. Clean style, this allusion is one of the largest to be adopted disasters visible through the geometric, color contrasted elements.
