Three South London artists, Dapo Adeola, Ezekiel Udeafor and Terrence Adegbenle, have come together to give their take on the subject of rebellion in black history.
Their work has been influenced by the actions of Nat Turner, the slave who led a revolt in 1831. Their artworks are not portraits of Turner himself but in response to the event of his birthday which falls on October 2nd; at the beginning of BHM.
They are attempting to show how icons of Black History have inspired people since. The key word in this exhibition is âRebellion' which evokes so many feelings of pride but sometimes of bitterness.
