The A&D Gallery in Marylebone will showcase a group exhibition of works by 20 artists curated by the Hornshaw Gallery London.

About

Presenting an eclectic range of artworks, the artists in this show represent a wide spectrum of styles. Through this interdisciplinary approach the exhibition offers an insight into the dynamic and ever- changing art forms in contemporary practice.

The title of the exhibition ‘Genius in Beauty’ is taken from a poem by Dante Gabriel Rossetti:

‘Beauty like hers is genius......Upon this beauty’s power shall wreak no wrong’. This quote conveys the romantic yet real notion that these artists are creating works of beauty, that there is a depth to these images and an intense understanding of this. That beauty is not merely on the surface but more profound and thought provoking.

The Hornshaw Gallery is delighted to present a carefully selected group of artists whose practices they have long pursued, crafted and refined.

The Exhibiting Artists Include a number of distinguished emerging artists:

Andrew Farmer, Simon Kirk, John Patrick Egan, Daisy Clarke, Lauren Mortimer, Sarah Thomas and David Ridley.

David Ridley is an artist of note. He has sold work internationally and is a favourite with collectors. His works depict seascapes that are imbued with a vivacity and energy. Note the intensity of colours that are spontaneously applied to the canvas.

Daisy Clarke is a popular artist whose artworks have been bought by clients including financiers, and distinguished actors including Hugh Grant and Jeremy Irons. These are beautiful images of fairy tales and dreamscapes featuring beautiful and elegant ladies and equally beautiful and refined images of nature.

Sarah Thomas is a stylish artist who experiments with a variety of styles ranging from Indian Moghul inspired images to French 18th Century court ladies. She uses these images as a starting point to create unique and beautiful artworks.
