Genevieve was born in England in 1969. Her father was a painter and her mother has owned a gallery in Chelsea. She travelled extensively as a child and lived variously in Wales, Australia and the South of France as well as in London. Her worldly perspective and love of bold colour as well as of animals and insects inspired early collage and paintings.
When her own children had grown up she spent two years at The Heatherley School of Fine Art in Chelsea graduating with a Diploma in Portraiture. Shortly after this in late 2015 she was shortlisted for Artists and Illustrators Magazine “Artist of the Year” award. She is now tutored in portraiture by Maggi Hambling CBE (http://www.maggihambling.com).
Genevieve lives in Oxfordshire and works from her studio in Henley-on-Thames. She has taken part in the Henley Arts Trail on several occasions and has exhibited jointly in the Old Fire Station Gallery in Henley and in Mall Galleries in London (as part of the "Artist of the Year” shortlisting).
Her current work includes collage as well as portraits, landscapes and abstract paintings. She has also made very popular scarves from a repeat pattern fabric taken from an original oil painting of a skull. She sells some work through Paul Smith (https://www.paulsmith.com) and has undertaken commissions. Her website is http://genevieve.artweb.com containing a selection of her work.
