Showcasing the painter’s established body of work that accurately depicts the atmosphere, power and mood characterising these rich, verdant environments, this exhibition continues the artist’s exploration of the thought provoking and contemplative reflection these sites may elicit. With further examination, observations that these natural areas bespeak on the human condition arise.

Composed of a range of seascapes and landscapes, the exhibition draws from Pereira’s strong connection with the Norfolk and Suffolk coastline. Despite the variety of scales of the artworks, each vista is suffused with an equal gravity and dynamism, true to the magnificence of the location. A further inspiration is evidenced from the misty peaks of Mount Snowden or the rugged terrain of Cadair Idris, which is dramatically and virtuously evinced in oils.

On location small-scale studies inform the artist’s larger paintings that are produced back in his Norfolk studio. Through traditional techniques, Pereira imparts the serene depictions of the seaside, rural treescapes and expansive, exposed cliff faces with a photo-realist quality. The artist’s concern for classic painting practices, building his pieces in meticulous thin washes and utilising self made materials, attests to the accomplished definition, sensitivity and precision he strives for.

Pereira is represented by three leading London galleries as well as a number of regional galleries.  His work is exhibited in Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada, France, United States and Australia.  He has won many awards and has many notable clients and collectors throughout the world. This show is demonstrative of the continued dedication, focus and conviction of the successful contemporary painter.
