What is it to be an artist in the technocene? While we constantly raise concerns around data collection, privacy, surveillance, agency, and ownership; what is the role these dynamics are playing in “cultural production”?

About

We are consumers of technology, mainly from mainstream sources; commercial gadgets, government and corporations. Gatherings of physical humans are decreasing as our connectivity through gadgets and technology increases. We are often disconnected from the workings of technology, and our imagination is limited to what is provided to us. In this setting, it is of utmost importance now to create better understanding and re-imagine the tools we use everyday.

Part 1: Time and space:
Our idea of time and space is largely formed by the lifestyles we follow today, ticking from one scene to the next all planned in your calendar. A standard clock has been set making time directly related to monetary gains. We each perceive a reality. Each individual uses a point of view to perceive time and space. A set of events take place, and a set of people watch from different angles. Each person in the room is an individual observer experiencing the events. But the set of events brings everyone closer to a shared reality, i.e. the perception of time and space. Thus making a set of given events the only reality that can be shared between people. All else, the past and the future are invalid in the relationship, only the ‘moment’ is a fact.

How do we relook at this present fact of ‘time and space’?
