"Furnas Matas" is not a photography set, but an overlapping of photos, taken somewhere between Sintra and the Azores vegetations. The images are produced using analog and experimental methods, on 35mm or 120mm films.

ANA FRANCISCA AMARAL (Lisbon, 1983) explores since an early age the potential of the spaces where she lives through art, scenography and temporary occupations. She practice architecture and joinery in her atelier in Rua Poço dos Negros, the street where she developed the international art festival MANPOWER, that invades the shop windows, commercial and abandoned spaces. Currently she uses photography to exercise the elasticity of time and to practice playfully the differentiation between space and place. She shoots exclusively on film using various Lomo cameras, a classic Nikon F3 and a large format Horseman 980 launched in the 60s. She exhibited individually at Pickpocket Gallery, in Magasessions, and at the Seteais Palace in Sintra, occupying its majestic halls and gardens.
