Now in its fourth year, the FUAM Graduate Art Prize, supported by the Friends of University Art & Music (FUAM) rewards the artistic excellence of the top students completing studies in Design and Fine Art at the University of Leeds in 2016. The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery will host an exhibition showcasing the work of this year's 4 finalists, which will open on Tuesday 2 August 2016, 6pm.
Degree shows at the Schools of Fine Art and of Design at the University of Leeds took place around campus in June 2016. After visiting these, a panel of 3 judges from around the Yorkshire region selected 4 graduating students as finalists for The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery's increasingly prestigious FUAM Graduate Art Prize Exhibition 2016.
The Finalists for 2016 are:
Zoe James (School of Design)
Francesca Ivaldi (School of Design)
Emii Alrai (School of Fine Art)
India Pearce (School of Art)
In September, the judges will return to select the overall winner of the FUAM Graduate Art Prize. The 'Best in Show' graduating student artist of the year will receive £250. Each of the runners-up will receive £100 each to aid them in their developing career as artists. The prizes will be awarded by FUAM in an awards ceremony on 28 September 2016.
