Bloc Projects has played a key role in the contemporary art scene in Sheffield and further afield for the last 15 years.
About
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Bloc Projects. Over the past fifteen years the organisation has played host to countless exhibitions, events, talks, book launches, performances, residencies, exchanges and much more, whilst numerous artists have passed by as they begin their journey along their uncertain path through the art world.
To mark this notable occasion and to signify a new era for Bloc Projects under new directorship, we look back at an impressive archive that tells the story of the development of a constantly changing organisation and one that always aims to put progression at the forefront.
This exhibition includes posters, press releases, flyers, publications and newspaper articles spanning the past fifteen years. It is an opportunity for visitors to recount their individual experiences and encounters with Bloc Projects and to use the archive as a tool to look forward to a new phase.
A series of new texts by artists and writers will be presented in the exhibition, all of which recount and respond to the writers experiences whilst visiting or being part of Bloc Projects.
