A film screening curated by artists Louise Colbourne and Jim Hobbs

About

Hobbs and Colbourne have a mutual interest in the physical nature and content of film and video installation. Both of these artists studied sculpture to MFA level and have also become interested in the scale and luminescent possibilities of the projected moving image. For the Physical Center programme Hobbs and Colbourne have joined forces to screen a selection of short film and video works that show intense physicality on screen. These range from the comedy of slap-stick through to more demanding performances and scenarios that are closely aligned with horror and torture. This screening will include both projected 16mm films as well as video works spanning the years from 1930 to the present.
