A series of screen prints by Mick Marston – Illustrator/Printmaker/Art Director/Lecturer.

About

Mick Marston is an award winning illustrator with a client list as long as your arm, both of which still astonish him to this day. Alongside the commissioned work he makes images to satisfy his own creative urges and attempts to buck the trend of bland commercial illustration. His personal work manifests itself in the medium of screen printing which have been exhibited in galleries and public spaces throughout the UK and the USA. The content draws upon fragmented memories, thoughts, half baked bits of useful (and useless) information, history, stories, other people's pictures, environmental concerns, songs and euphemisms.

In addition to his freelance illustration career, Mick also devotes half of his time to lecturing in the Graphic Arts at Leeds Beckett University and is a visiting lecturer at a variety of institutions around the UK. Mick is also an Art Director at Sheffield based design collective dust.

Mick lives in the windy village of High Bradfield near Sheffield with wife Liz and three whippets – Bob, Jessie and Jasper, a spotted horse called Pintado and four hens.

In his spare time he rides a bicycle around the Peak District, supports a football team, likes cricket and building dry stone walls.
