About
The Fringe of Failure is a mishmash of engaging activities that are all about messing up. We’re asking people to join us to explore creative failure through opportunities to collaborate, bumble, bodge, botch, and make a dog's dinner of new ideas. The one-day-only event will be delivered by six early-career creatives, and is supported by the forever optimistic No Jobs in the Arts.
No Jobs In The Arts’ Fringe of Failure will take place 10am - 5pm on Saturday 26th February 2022, at the LCB Depot, in Leicester. The event will be drop-in style, so there’s no need to book tickets. Creative activities will run from 10am - 12:30pm, and then from 1:30pm - 4pm. The event will close with a discussion 4 - 5pm. Pop in whenever you like and stay as long as you like!
To close the day, No Jobs in the Arts will be running ‘Let’s discuss Creative Failure’, a conversation with a small group of creatives to close the Fringe of Failure; a chance to talk about times when things didn’t quite go to plan, and what they learned as a result. Creative people of all backgrounds and experiences are invited to join in, share their experiences, and reflect on what role mistakes play in their creative practises.
UK New Artists have partnered with us to deliver the Fringe; the event will run alongside their City Takeover: new and emerging artists will take over and animate the city of Leicester, 25-27 February, with 10 exhibitions and 20 performances across music, spoken word, dance and theatre and film.
