Travel Information

An exhibition celebrating the extraordinary work of self-taught Jewish artist Friedrich Nagler, an obsessive maker who fled Nazi-occupied Austria in 1939.
About
The extensive series of scale sculptural heads which he carved, cast and assembled from materials such as bone, metal, ivory, plastic and non-traditional materials such as bread, is central to the exhibition.
This is the first time that these works have been exhibited in a public gallery. The exhibition supports Pallant House Gallery’s commitment to engage visitors with Outsider Art and elevate the profile of self-taught artists.
