An exhibition showcasing the work of two contemporary artists
About
7 - 29 June - ‘Freedom of Colour’ brings together two artists whose use of colour and light makes the canvases positively hum with energy.
Jerry Browning is a master of colour and form. Influenced by the American Abstract Expressionists and the St Ives painters Patrick Heron and Terry Frost with whom he painted in the 1970s, his sure hand creates bold canvases which draw the viewer in and takes them on a journey of discovery. Each painting is a delight which lifts the spirit and inspires thoughtful appreciation.
Emily Powell is a young rising star. A dynamic and expressive painter, her work is also filled with energy, from vast skies of broad brushstrokes to lively line work sketching out the land below. Her use of bold colours is testament to her youth and vitality. Emily has already collaborated with prestigious institutions including the British Museum, National Galleries of Scotland, Museum of Modern Art (New York) and Gallery of Modern Art (Glasgow).
