Welcome to Bullclough School of Art,  a spectacular meeting place and retreat for aspiring and established artists.  Combining a deep connection between the tools and techniques of art, together with the flair and passion of creativity, the Bullclough experience is truly inspirational for everyone who studies here. 

Bullclough School of Art is the latest venture by Nellie Shepherd, whose pioneering London art classes and creative books introduced thousands of people to the joys of all forms of art. Bullclough is located in the dramatic landscape of the Peak District, with deep valleys carved into the rolling limestone hills. The white peak area has inspired artists for generations, and under the tutelage and mentorship of practicing artists we aim to continue that tradition. Whether you attend a short course, a masterclass or a full workshop, you are guaranteed the very best instruction by recognised artists, who are well established in the art world and eager to share their skills and experience. 

NOTE: 

We also sometimes combine yoga/pilates within our programs or as an optional extra and we are lucky enough to have our very own resident yoga teacher on hand for private sessions. 

Freedom Of Art is an art workshop full of fun and creativity - great for your confidence levels. Run by Nellie and some of her artist friends! You can come to as many or as few days as you like - each day will be different.

Like no other art workshop you will have ever been on.

Now this workshop will most certainly bring out the child within your art.  Nellie made a name for herself teaching children art, with spectacular outcomes. Nellie uses similar methods to teach adults and the results are astonishing. Suitable for ALL levels, even if you have never picked up a paint brush in your life but feel the urge!

You can start the day with optional Yoga/pilates, picnic lunch and finish with a glass of champagne/healthy super juice,  while enjoying an exhibition of all the work created throughout the day! But don't be deceived into thinking it will be easy going, as you will have a prolific body of work by the end of the course and be shattered.

Each day will run like a roller coaster foundation in art, experimenting with different materials, mixing up photography, drawing, still life and painting outside/inside. There will be no rules or right way of doing things, just freedom of expression and experimentation.

A great workshop for the beginner or indeed for the professional who feels they need to free up or have a change of direction!
