Free Range returns in June 2019 for a three-week long
summer exhibition of cutting-edge and emerging
talent at East London’s Truman Brewery. The work
of over 800 art and photography students will be
on display, showcasing fresh creativity from across
the UK.

About

The annual exhibition, now in its nineteenth
year, attracts students from over 50 top academic
and creative institutions, from Edinburgh to Brighton,
providing a platform for their work and preparing
them for the next stage of their careers.

As a result of the overwhelming popularity of the art
and photography offerings, 2019’s showcase will
place specific focus on the two mediums, weeks one
and two will be dedicated to photography and fine
art in the third.

Alongside the exhibitions Free Range will be hosting
partnering institutions during the shows. PYLOT
Magazine are returning with a new programme of
events and exhibitions. The Photographer’s Gallery
will be showcasing their DEVELOP programme,
supporting young photographers in the next stages
of their career. And UAL’s Made In Arts London will be
taking over the partnership space during Art Week
with a programme of talks and workshops.

EXHIBITION DATES:
Photography Week One: 21 - 24 June
Photography Week Two: 28 June - 01 July
Art Week: 05 - 08 July

FREE RANGE AWARDS
Free Range 2019 will culminate with the FR Awards
2020, where a relevant panel of industry experts and
professionals will judge participants each week to
award the ‘Best in Show’. The awards, introduced in
2016, provide winners with funding towards their own
solo exhibition and personal mentorship in the lead
up towards their own exhibitions.

FREE RANGE 20
Next year the Truman Brewery will host the 20th
anniversary of the Free Range graduate art fair
highlighting the success stories of former Free Range
exhibitors who have gone on to; shoot campaigns for
Miu Miu (Jamie Hawkesworth), photograph the likes
Damien Hirst (Lily Bertrand-Webb), found influential
creative platform It’s Nice That (Will Hudson) and
