About
Magic Beans is pleased to present “Ansammlungen”, a solo exhibition by Frederike von Cranach from May 13 to June 10, 2016. “Ansammlungen” is Frederike von Cranach’s first solo exhibition at Magic Beans. This exhibition will feature new sculptures, works on paper and mixed media collages.
The exhibition is structured around five sculptures made up of Egagropili, straw-like and furry natural objects found in the Mediterranean sea that arise from Neptune Grass. She finds inspiration and power from these fibrous spheres that wash up on to the shores. von Cranach stacks the stunning round objects and forms them into tall cubic structures by wrapping them with fine thread so that they appear to be otherworldly, science fiction monuments.
