About

The Hepsibah Gallery is proud to welcome back Frederick Rossakovsky-Lloyd to the gallery this Autumn. Rossakovsky-Lloyd is a cerebral artist whose work is informed by his thoughtful view of the world. Poet, painter and sculptor - his work in each medium confronts, challenges, assures and leaves the viewer happy - yes happy. This is unusual, I hear you say, in this ruthless world - but it is nonetheless true of Frederick Rossakovsky-Lloyd's work. It challenges but does not depress. His enthusiasm for Life is paramount in the quirky figures with bubble heads populating his canvases. They tell an interesting story and always document a questioning, amused and thoughtful world. I like it. They fill me with Joy!.In some ways it makes Frederick Rossakovsky-Lloyd the Lowry of his generation with the simple depiction of the everyday- but the figures are not hurrying matchstick men with drear lives but exuberant, languorous characters about whom we would love to know more! On a more serious note - Frederick Rossakovsky-Lloyd is one to watch. His work is innovative. Quietly he dares to be different and as if it isn't enough to sing his praises I'd like to end with one of his poems then you may even agree with me that he has a little bit of genius too. JH Poem by Frederick Rossakovsky-Lloyd I would like to write something so wise that everyone would understand and draw conclusions... but I don't write Not because I am stupid,or immature but simply because everyone is different... and not everyone likes bouillon so how am I to write that bouillon is fine or that a queer doesn't go against nature or that there's no god because it's not logical or that death is just the beginning no... I won't write anything wise and none of you will write it because we are all poets who understand only writing tucked away in a drawer c Copywright Frederick Rossakovsky-Lloyd
