Sustaining A Practice — Artists of Repute Artists talk about what keeps them going Freddie Robins Artist & Senior RCA Tutor in Textiles Freddie Robins is an artist based in Essex. She uses knitting to explore pertinent contemporary issues of the domestic, gender and the human condition. She predominantly produces work for public exhibition, recent exhibitions include Entlang des Fadens (Along the Thread), Kunst Archiv Darmstadt, Germany, and Fifties, Fashion and Emerging Feminism [a contemporary response], curated by Day + Gluckman for Collyer Bristow Gallery, London. She has also selected and curated exhibitions including Ceremony, Pump House Gallery, London in 2005 and Jerwood Contemporary Makers 2010. Her work is held in private and public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum.
