About

Designed by Fraser Muggeridge studio
31 March - 25 April 2010

Private View - Tuesday 30 March 2010 6-9pm

Designed by Fraser Muggeridge studio is an exhibition of 48 new books, each unique and made up of 48 different publications designed by Fraser Muggeridge studio.

The limited edition book has been meticulously reformed, as an amalgam of 48 selected books and catalogues, from 2001 to present, designed for clients including Bookworks, Lund Humphries and Tate Publishing. With 192 pages of contrasting form and content, Designed by Fraser Muggeridge studio is a reconfiguring of separated leaves in which typography, image, ink and paper can either clash or complement in their new formations.

Within the introduction, Eric Kindel provides a contemplative reflection to the concept: '... strange combinations, contradictions, arrangements nearly bad; not pastiche, but sort of, not homage, but sort of; history, but now.'

All 48 books will be installed at KALEID editions from 31 March until 25 April 2010, and will be available for purchase alongside a collection of the original publications.

About Fraser Muggeridge studio

Throughout a wide range of formats, from artists' books and exhibition catalogues to posters, maps and postcard invites, the studio prioritises artists' and writers' content over the imposition of a signature style. By allowing images and texts to sustain their own intent and impact, each project is approached with an elegantly pared-down aesthetic, with colour, typography, paper stock and format playing a key role in arriving at a sympathetic yet subtly alluring.
